I built a research workspace to find iGaming reporting, keep the sources and turn a reading list into an editorial brief.

The problem
Researching a story means checking several publishers, keeping the useful links and remembering what still needs verification. A feed alone does not finish that job.
What I built
I connected a collected news archive to a reading list and a downloadable brief. Research filters help narrow the search; Coverage and Sources & standards explain what the archive contains.
Collect
Publisher RSS and news-index excerpts, with original links and date provenance.
Research
Search and filter the archive, inspect coverage, then save useful stories.
Prepare
Add an angle and reporting notes; download a brief with the source list.
What I had to get right
Keep the dates honest
Publication and collection dates are separate. Missing publication dates stay unknown, so an old article cannot look new just because it was collected today.
Make collection failures visible
The app identifies sources that could not refresh. If collection fails completely, the last usable archive stays available. File replacement prevents readers seeing a half-written update.
Let the writer own the brief
Stories and notes stay in the visitor’s session. Editing them invalidates the prepared download, so the exported brief reflects the writer’s current choices.
How I check it
- Tests cover source attribution, missing dates, duplicate stories and collection failure.
- Browser checks exercise brief downloads and separation between visitor sessions.
- Optional AI findings must cite matching article IDs and exact source quotations. Unsupported references are rejected.
The result
A writer can find reporting, save supporting sources and download a brief with their own notes. The core workflow runs without an AI account.
Where it stops short
Feeds and news indexes provide partial coverage, sometimes only a headline or excerpt. Matching a quotation does not prove a claim. Writers still need to check the original reporting, and download their brief before the session ends.
